3 Days 2 Nights - Northern Mergui Archipelago Loop
Slow Boat Adventure with Marcus Island Stay

1ST DAY:

We pick you up in the morning (8:45 AM) from your hotel and transfer you to Seik Nge Jetty. We can also start the same day if you arrive with the first flight from Yangon (before 8:00 AM)

After 1.5 hours we stop at a local owned grouper fish farm. The local people call them stone fish as the fish can be found around stones only. Fishermen catch them when they are babies. The farms keep them up to 10 years for breeding. The fish can reach up to one meter and weighs about 40 kilograms or more at the end.

Afterwards we continue to Tha Mee La Island, our first snorkeling stop. The long reef in front of island is very shallow and goes down declines very deep. Look out for some smaller stuff like clown fish or sea urchin. We have also spotted small sharks and cuttlefish. We have lunch on the boat in a nearby bay.

In the early afternoon we arrive to Marcus Island. Now it is time to unwind and relax. Go for a swim or kayak or just enjoy the deck chairs.

Your tent or pop up mosquito dome will be set for you. You should not miss the sunset spot on the west side of the island (15min walk). Afterwards dinner will be served for you.

2ND DAY:

 Say good morning to the sun while waking up. We prepare a simple breakfast for you.

 We get back on the boat and depending on the tide have a stop at Prince Island, also known as Gifford Island. The island names were given by the British, who were confused or bored or both during colonial times in Burma. They are named after important person during time. Who Mr Gifford was we might never find out. Usually good visibility is waiting for us on this reef, as there is no sand beach around, be prepared for a drift snorkel.

We continue to Thet Pan Nyo Island for some more underwater action. There is a hard coral reef with lots of stone fish in-between. Watch out for the morels while snorkeling over the shallow reef. We have lunch on the boat and will rest on the beach before taking you to a stunning soft / tree coral reef nearby. We continue to Lin Long village to fresh up supplies and have a chat with the locals. Could you imagine living a life without bills and insurances? Before sunset we set over to our camp on a remote beach. There will be no facilities tonight, however freshwater and toilet are on our boat.

Feel free to give us a hand to set up the camp. We highly recommend a night swim with the fluorescence. Enjoy!

3rd DAY:

We have light breakfast on the beach and take our time. Depending on the tides today we will have snorkeling or beach relaxing over at Brune Island, which is another gem in the archipelago.

Lunch will be served on the boat again while we cruising back towards Myeik. The last highlight is the dense mangrove canal, where with a bit of luck we can spot otters and horn bills.

We reach Myeik in the later afternoon and transfer you back to your hotel or bus station.

Please note: The Mergui Archipelago will be a joint tour with other customers. The program may change depending on tie and weather conditions. Participants need to submit their personal details. We do not recommend pregnant customers and customers with back ache to join the trip.
